this late but it better than be late than never well it original chip punk rock but just said punk rock because very people create what would be consider chip punk. You hear nothing like since I use simple rate reduction for my guitar tone. Few poeple use the bit crusher effect they way I do. I even look up demos of pedals to check if I was one of the first. my chip punk style is mix of pop punk with chip tunes. I come up with trying to save pop punk but realized maybe a different sound is needed. I kind of sucks that favorite gene not popular any more and do not much to listen to.
