Hi everyone! Here’s my first SynthV YouTube video ever, a cover of Olivia Rodrigo’s vampire.
I also made the Live2D character animation (it’s a work in progress), and rearranged the music with virtual orchestra. Comments, critiques and feedback are very much welcome and appreciated! <3
Hey Siberuang. Nice job on a very ambitious project. I wish more people went out of the box a bit and did orchestrational pieces. The only recommendations I would have are that the orchestra seems to be panned to the sides and it might be better to have the instruments in more of a traditional full-field panning where Solaria might need to be a bit louder in the mix. And I think she needs to breath a bit more. You have some short breaths in a few spots but try to sing it yourself and see how much more you would probably be looking to breath - there are some long singing passages in there. Otherwise, nice job.
Thank you very much for the detailed feedback! For the breaths I actually added in every spot where the original singer does, but probably some are inaudible. I wish they add a feature to increase breath volume significantly with a simple slider. I’ll keep this in mind and will probably use the loudness parameter to boost the breath sound, and try tweaking the strings panning for future works
Remember it’s not all about breath volume - it’s about breath length. It takes time to comfortably suck in air as a real singer would. And longer breaths tend to more audible, but not always. And you can use breath pauses to add tension and anticipation and to move words off the beat as a real singer does.
