"End Up as Nothing" Featuring Hayden

Hey Everyone,
I wrote a new song using Hayden. It is called, “End Up As Nothing.”

End Up as Nothing
By Chad Shank
Vocal by Synth V - Hayden

Staring at nothing
Tears slide down
What am I hearing
Why tell me now
Hard to breathe
I feel my face get hot
All our work seems like it’s gone

Tell me we mattered
Say you felt something
Did we mean anything
We’re over
So show me
Was trying worth all this pain
Thankful we happened
Roads still got traveled
Scared you don’t feel the same
We struggled
And crumbled
Now End Up as Nothing

Love was the mountain
We didn’t climb
Started the mission
Now here we are
Nights stay heavy
Scars are barely healed
How did trying get so hard

Tell me we mattered
Say you felt something
Did we mean anything
We’re over
So show me
Was trying worth all this pain
Thankful we happened
Roads still got traveled
Scared you don’t feel the same
We struggled
And crumbled
Now End Up as Nothing

Please tell me
My mind’s exploding
I have to know

Tell me we mattered
Say you felt something
Did we mean anything
We’re over
So show me
Was trying worth all this pain
Thankful we happened
Roads still got traveled
Scared you don’t feel the same
We struggled
And crumbled
Now End Up as Nothing

Great song and great vocal programming, I can hear octaves and harmonies loads going on, great work!

I’ve been considering buying Hayden but he seems to have a lisp on a lot of “s” words. Like here on “end up as nothing” and “don’t feel the same” it sounds a bit like “end up ath nothing” and “don’t feel the thame”. Maybe it’s just inherent from the voice provider, but it puts me off the purchase a bit. How have you found it in general working with his voice?

Sometimes I hear that and sometimes I don’t. I can’t tell if it is just how the vocal sits in the mix, or if it is how close together I had the words. It also could be over use of a de-esser. That can make vocals sounds like a lisp. I may adjust the mix to see what it is.
I feel like some of the consonant sounds are getting mushed together. “Trying” kinda sounds like “drying” sometimes. As I was making this, I felt like Hayden is quite similar to Kevin, but has a bit more character, or grit in the voice.

That makes sense. And yeah I agree his voice definitely has more character and a more pleasing timbre over Kevin. I have Kev but only ever seem to use him on backing vocals.

I have used Kevin for BG vocals and I used him to demo songs when I couldn’t sing when I had Covid LOL. He is just a bit too plain, but if you up the gender, he sounds a bit more gruff. I need to make more songs with Hayden to see how it goes. I think of all the voices, Natalie is my fave.

Thanks so much!

You’re welcome. BTW, I have watched & enjoyed some of your youtube videos on your channel. Have you been using SynthV for a while or did you just get into it? Are you going to be using it for some more of your demos?

Hey, thanks for watching my YouTube channel. Appreciate it. I think I found Synth V this spring or summer. I have been playing with it as a different creative outlet outside of singing my own stuff. It is fun to try other voices without having to find people who are available. I also get bored of my own voice.
I want to make more songs with Hayden. I like his voice.

BenjiRage - Your songs sound REALLY great. Nice job. Love you production and your writing.

Good stuff. Looking forward to more.

Aw cheers dude, I really appreciate that

Pretty good - Being a songwriter myself, I really have disliked the attempts at male voices on Synth V in my limited experiences, but this one sounds pretty decent/almost there. There just isn’t any (variable) edginess to the sound - no angst/cry sound that vocalists can create - (so far).

Thanks for sharing.
