It would be nice to keep the grid ON when switching to - “do not snap”.
To create nuanced performances (non-quantized) having the reference grid visible is useful - while freely dragging start and end points.
Currently all the small grid points disappear in “do not snap” mode. 
Secondary to this - dark grey background is hard to see in the piano roll note editor.
