when you hit space bar for playback you can the option to hold down ctrl before hitting space bar again so that the play cursor goes back to where it was…this works but,
is there any way to become a normal function of the space bar without needing to hold down control each time?

I’m accustomed to using “w” to rewind to the start on my daw so I used a key binding in synth v to goto measure 0 and with the new ARA linking, typing w rewinds synth V and the daw together.
